NEET (UG) 2025: Important update on exam pattern and duration

The National Testing Agency has issued public notice regarding NEET (UG) exam pattern and duration of exam for year 2025.

National Eligiblity cum Entrence Test, Undergradute (NEET – UG) is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) annualy as common and uniform exam for admission to undergradute medical education in all medical institutions across India. The National Testing Agency has issued public notice regarding NEET (UG) exam pattern and duration of exam for year 2025.

National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting NEET – (UG) exam from 2019 on behalf of National Medical Commision. As per official notification of NTA, the question paper pattern and examination duration of NEET – UG will revert to pre-Covid format where there will not be any Section B anymore.

New Question Paper pattern:

The candidate will have to answer 180 compulsory question and question paper is divided into three sections:

  1. Physics: Physics has 45 questions and each question has four marks. Candidate will be awarded 4 marks for correct answer and nagative 1 for wrong answer.
  2. Chemistry: Chemistry also has 45 questions and each question has four marks. Candidate will be awarded 4 marks for correct answer and nagative 1 for wrong answer.
  3. Biology: Biology is the major subject for NEET – (UG), the biology part 90 questions and each question has 4 marks.

Moreover, the total duration of examination will be 180 minutes (3 hours). This means that the extra time and optional questions introduced during Covid 19 pandamic will no longer be available.
